We are seeking qualified applications for the position of Mission System Support Specialist to join the Technical Customer Support division, at our PAL Aerospace Europe Netherlands location at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site, critical mission system technical support services to enable exception operational effectiveness of our special mission ISR aircraft
- Perform mission system troubleshooting and maintenance activities
- Mentor local support teams on mission system implementation and operation, facilitating effective communication between users and the technical team
- Facilitate responses to customer technical support requests, including elevation of observations to authoring comprehensive system problem reports for forwarding to product and system managers
- Hosting and assisting modification teams for upgrades or in-country testing and training events
- Diagnose, verify and modify sensor equipment, computer, firewall, and networking device configurations to diagnose defects, investigate customer observations, and return or maintain conformance to designs
- Maintain and apply Windows server services, firewall and Ethernet networking skills
- User administration and data management to support pre-mission and post-mission activities
- Execute test instructions to ensure correct operation of equipment
- Design various aircraft mission system modifications and/or repairs
- Assist in document user checklists and standard operating procedures
- Travel to support PAL Aerospace Europe operations throughout Europe, and occasionally to other PAL Aerospace world-wide locations and operations
Qualifications:
- Technical certificate, diploma, or degree in Systems Integration, Electronic or Computer Engineering Technology, Aerospace Technology, or Information Management / Information Technology
- Three years’ experience in Ethernet networking, Windows servers, firewall security appliances or a combination of these three domains is preferred
- In combination with or separate from the above experience, three years’ experience in aviation technologies environment is preferred
- Knowledge of avionics data protocols including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, serial data protocols is preferred
- Experience troubleshooting complex systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Domains, group policies and cyber security best practices
- Knowledge of Ethernet protocols (Layers 1 through 3), LAN and WAN architectures, and network device configuration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, engineering drawing, and data analysis tools
- Troubleshooting experience and superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Superior communication skills with the ability to work with a distributed, diverse team
- Demonstrated flexibility and able to adapt in a dynamic environment
- Able to obtain national and airport security clearances
